Running Accomplishments:

'Just started! -Again!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Increase my energy levels so that I can keep up with my demanding jobs (Mother of Five, Wife of Father of Five, Chef, Housekeeper, Uncertified Phone Counselor, to name a few:). Strengthen my heart and improve my circulation. Grow some muscles! (It's about time!) Run four miles at once... sometime in the next 2 yrs, anyway. :)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to still have the strength and energy to do things when I'm old. I'd also like to stay in one peice until then!

Personal:

I have been married almost 9 years to Practically-Perfect Jeremy. We have five dear children 7yo and under. I rollerbladed as a teenager. For 18 mo, I walked a few times a week until about a year ago. I tried running w/ wonderful running partner last year, but that tapered off. We had a hard time matching schedules and I wasn't committed enough to do it alone. After an inspiring meeting with Sasha and Sarah, I am recommitted to regular exercise. I may run, or I may fast-walk. The point is to get MOVING, again. Please bear with my pitiful mileage. Supermommy runs all day, and doing that properly is my #1 priority.

well, they were fast-slow miles. i felt that i had taken it slow long enough and had no day-after tiredness for long enough that i could push myself more. it worked out really well. (the next day i was totally fine. 'just a LITTLE sore, and no soreness two days later.) lybi and i ran around my neighborhood, and there was a nice breeze. fall is COMING - yay! it was definitely more fun to pick up the pace and not feel like such a slowpoke. i am excited to do it again! we'll see if paige wants to keep her plan to rollerblade this tuesday night. if she doesn't (barring any major disasters), i am totally running. anyway, this log is probably so far back, no one will even see it, but i needed to write about it. it was more progress.

these were rollerblading miles. i went w/ my sister and it was nice to fly and talk. i feel like a pretty experienced rollerblader because i did it for years, but i noticed tonight (as i wobbled and hopped and bladed past the turns going too fast) that even at my most familiar sports, i am awkward. 8) it's just part of me. my mom should have gotten me another ballet teacher when the one i had at age 4 quit to have her baby! hehe i totally could have used the grace. (for what it's worth, she put me in a dozen other kinds of lessons, too. hummm... i wonder why...)

I ran w/ Paige & Lybi around Lybi's neighborhood. There was a nice breeze. As I was musing inwardly about how lucky we were to have the wind, Lybi mentioned how much nicer early mornings are. VERY tempting to think of TWENTY DEGREES cooler runnings... Since having two babies in a row and kicking the second one out into her own room (nicely) finally, I am AT LAST getting some much-needed sleep at night, and feeling semi-conscious at 5:30am. When I was in college, I used to walk in the early mornings and watch the sun rise w/ my best friend (after I knocked on her window to wake her up). It was a fun way to start the day. I could get used to it, again, possibly... Let's see, as far as the running tonight went, the company was fun, but I felt a little sluggish. I think that is mostly because I didn't pay attention to how much I was eating at a plentiful dinner. (Oops) Or it could have had something to do w/ staying up an hour and a half too late last night...>> (

I ran w/ Lybi & Paige for 2 full miles. They were full for me. I was pooped from my huge laundry undertaking earlier that evening (3 hrs, 21 loads, washed, dried, and folded by 1 crazy, procrastinating superMommy in a laundramat8).

I promised Lybi & Paige that our runs would be cooler in 10 days in time for my birthday, as it always is nice at night here by then. ...I'm a little nervous this time, though, that it will cool down in time. We went off the beaten path, around a nearby neighborhood, and kept an eye out for who might belong to the bike by the sidewalk. :O Paige noticed the bike, and Lybi plotted a well-lit path. It was fun, even though I did feel like a big whiner because I talked about how wiped out I was.

I ran two miles w/ Lybi and Paige around Lybi's neighborhood. It was still a little hot at 8:45pm. I promised them by my birthday (this weekend) that it'd be nice in the evenings. It was lovely to talk and laugh w/ them, as usual. They went slow w/ me, taking more than 27min all-together. Obviously this involved some walking.

I really hope to get out more regularly in the nicer weather. It thrills me to enjoy the outdoors after a fried-egg-on-the-sidewalk summer. )

I ran w/ Paige around our neighborhood. I was really excited that despite my slow pace, I was able to run almost a mile continually w/out dragging feet. Unfortunately, I usually have to stop before that point, lately. I'm not sure if not having dairy this week helped (I'm allergic), or the weather, or if I'm actually getting a little better. :) Whichever, I'll take it. Paige had a big dinner and for once wasn't dragging me behind her (not literally, of course;).

Apparently my sitting here is causing my baby real physical anguish, so I had better wrap up.

Cool runnings, everyone!
