Running Accomplishments:

'Just started! -Again!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Increase my energy levels so that I can keep up with my demanding jobs (Mother of Five, Wife of Father of Five, Chef, Housekeeper, Uncertified Phone Counselor, to name a few:). Strengthen my heart and improve my circulation. Grow some muscles! (It's about time!) Run four miles at once... sometime in the next 2 yrs, anyway. :)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to still have the strength and energy to do things when I'm old. I'd also like to stay in one peice until then!

Personal:

I have been married almost 9 years to Practically-Perfect Jeremy. We have five dear children 7yo and under. I rollerbladed as a teenager. For 18 mo, I walked a few times a week until about a year ago. I tried running w/ wonderful running partner last year, but that tapered off. We had a hard time matching schedules and I wasn't committed enough to do it alone. After an inspiring meeting with Sasha and Sarah, I am recommitted to regular exercise. I may run, or I may fast-walk. The point is to get MOVING, again. Please bear with my pitiful mileage. Supermommy runs all day, and doing that properly is my #1 priority.

I walked tonight! I know... it's not running. 'But it's closer! My baby's weaning & it was easier for both of us if I stepped out of the house at bedtime tonight. She'll be two in June -- it's time.

Anyway, it was a beautiful evening. The sun had just set and it was cooler outside than in. We have bemoaned the increasing temperatures here in Mesa, so it was nice to revel in a cool April evening.

I walked around the whole neighborhood twice and definitely got my heart rate up. Since it was a last minute thing, I went alone. I tried to get my walking-friend neighbor to join me, but she wasn't home. As I left her empty home, it hit me how much will be missing when she moves away in a few months. I need to walk with her while I can, but that does scare me a little because then I'll miss her even more than I did tonight when she leaves.

'Which reminds me of how much I miss hanging out with Lybi. I guess that's one good thing about the heat -- sick children season should be OVER soon.

Well, since I was almost in pain staying inside on such a beautiful day, I grabbed my first excuse to go outside. I had a sick baby home from church who was miserable and bored in the house, until we went OUTSIDE. I pushed her in the stroller for a mile (walking). She enjoyed the birds and trees and wasn't so sure about the at-times strong wind. She didn't like the stray sprinkler drops blowing on her, for sure. Later, in the early evening, her 3yo sister was home & bored with us, too. I took them both out for a ride in the double stroller (walking). It was a little too warm & bright, so we weren't out as long, but it was nice for them & me to get out & see a little nature & have some fresh air. The second walk was about 2/3mi. We said, "Hi!" to all the neighbors we saw.

HOW many extra miles does it count for to push strollers, again? :)

Sasha motivated me to not only take up walking and hopefully running, again, but to take better care of myself by SLEEPING.

I am going to record my sleep times daily for some accountability. It's a struggle for me to be disciplined enough with my quiet time to go to sleep at a decent hour. I think I am getting better... It'll be easier to know when I can track it.

I have made a list of important daily and weekly tasks that I really don't want to miss, & I'm looking at them throughout each day, in an effort to rejuvenate my health (spiritual and physical) as i wean my almost-2yo baby. My mom mentioned that she worries about my health and I sure don't know what she's talking about, but I do know I want it to be a non-issue. What is wrong with my health?!

From my recent early miscarriage I learned I'd really like to have another baby. -And hopefully before my current youngest child is too awful old.
